She is an Assistant Professor and a researcher at the Universidad de Las Américas, Ecuador. Her research interests focus on generating Practice-Based Evidence for psychological interventions. She has worked in Ecuador and has been focused on trying to develop a practice-based research network for psychotherapists in Latin America. She has conducted psychometric exploration of several measures of outcome and change for psychological interventions to the Ecuadorian which has been published since 2020. During these years, she has been working with Dr. Chris Evans, and together they are trying to expand the use of an outcome measures (CORE-OM) in Latin America. To support practice-based evidence in the region she received the Marna Barrett Award for Excellence in Psychotherapy, an award given by the Society for Psychotherapy Research, which looks to recognize and to support the research done by psychotherapists. The award led to the creation of web-based application for data collection named MarBar (https://www.marbarsystem.com/). This application is helping with the generation of data and research in Latin America about the effectiveness of routine psychological treatment. In this research, she is a Co-Investigator who will help in developing a similar system called MarBar- Africa.
