Personal Biography:

I am a consultant Psychiatrist, and an early career researcher with interests in the areas of mental health and chronic diseases, addiction medicine, community mental health and suicide. I have worked with the Ministry of health as a clinician, held leadership positions and also worked in the field of HIV and played a pivotal role in scaling up care, treatment and prevention of HIV as the District HIV/Aids coordinator. As a result of these previous experiences, I am aware of the importance of teamwork, frequent communication among project members, and constructing a realistic research plan, timeline, and budget. The current application offers me an opportunity to build my career in research. In summary, I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research project Kisumu County Hospital.
